This one is a direct extrapolation of the Yak-15 and Yak-17 series, but with a similar wing of the Yak-19 one. The "Flora" (NATO name code) could pretend little technological advance, but their benefits were praised and the strong speed was excellent. Nevertheless, in parallel form, the advanced MiG-15 more got up service at the same time. Therefore, the Yak-23 was constructed mainly for the export destined to the eastern block countries.

The model kit
It is of
Kopro brand and has the own limitations of his antiquity, but does not prevent
an acceptable work. We cannot even be severe with a model that in many cases
surpassed to scale models made in the West during the same time. The kit appears
in white color plastic and with decals to make a Soviet model or as we chose, a
Polish one. The panel lines seen to be placed correctly if compares them with a
photo of the real airplane.
The cockpit is scarce, reason why is recommendable to improve
it. The seat representation is acceptable. For the scale, the components of the
undercarriage are correct and must be sanded. There are small details of
depth in the undercarriages wheel wells, but its typical in many scale models of
that size. If we must question something of the model kit is the plastic,
of excessively hard consistency, that prevents to lower panel lines or reliefs
and to carry out a good sanding. But in general, we spoke of a pretty model.
